Extended Cutoff Time By 10 mins For Game 4

We’ve been informed that the WVC facility manager has agreed to give us 10 more minutes before we have to leave the complex at the end of the night. This means the new “hard cutoff” time is now 10 minutes later. The “no new inning” time will remain the same though. Here’s how it works:

  • 10:15 pm “no new innings”
  • 10:35 pm “hard cutoff
  • 10:40 pm “out of complex

This new time has been updated on the schedule (version 2.1) and can be accessed here, as well as under the “Schedules” tab. We will also have copies of the schedule posted in every dugout, backstop (behind home plate) and stat boxes.

Schedule Summary Update (version 2.0)

We updated the schedule summary for the following leagues that play at Ronwood:

  • Men’s Majors (12-14 yrs)
  • Women’s A and B (15+ yrs)
  • Women’s Majors (12-14 yrs)

We have been informed that we lose the fields one week earlier than planned. To adjust for this recent change, we have shifted all Ronwood location leagues to start their season one week earlier. You can access the new version 2.0 here, as well as the “Schedules–>Summary” tab.

Schedule Updated version 2.0 (Men’s A/B Leagues)

We made some changes to the men’s A and B league schedule. All changes made were only for formatting and to provide more information to everyone. No game times have been changed in this version. You can access the new version here, as well as the “Schedules–>Men’s–>A/B Leagues” tab. Here’s the list of changes made:

  • Changed schedule to be centered horizontally (looks better when printed).
  • Replaced left footer with “No New Innings” times (will help everyone know end times for games).
  • Added version date to right footer (helps know which version you’re looking at).
  • Added a “Change Log” at the bottom of the schedule. This shows every change made to the schedule since last version was posted. This will help everyone know what was changed on the schedule without having to spend a lot of time comparing different versions of the schedule.
  • Updated version # and version date.

We also posted the Schedule Summary that shows every leagues (men and women) start and end dates, as well as playoff dates and field locations. You can access it here, as well as the “Schedules–>Summary” tab.

If you have any questions you can contact Ruth Peters or James Young.

Softball Games Canceled Due To Rain (4/15/24)

Tonight’s softball games for the men’s A and B leagues are canceled due to rain. Please do NOT practice on the fields tonight either because we don’t want to cause damage to the fields.

Captains can choose between this coming Saturday or the following Saturday to play the make-up games. If neither Saturday works, the captains can appeal to the committee for a future Saturday. It will be on a league basis which means the A and B league does not have to choose the same Saturday.

Game times for make-up games are as follows:

  • Game 1: 8:00 am – 8:50 am
  • Game 2: 9:00 am – 9:50 am
  • Game 3: 10:00 am – 10:50 am
  • Game 4: 11:00 am – 11:45 am (hard cutoff at 11:55 am)

Softball Schedule 2024 (men’s A & B league)

The schedule for the men’s A and B league is finished and can be accessed here: Softball Schedule 2024. You can also access it from the “Schedules–>Men’s–>A League” tab.

We made several changes to it this year:

  1. Every team plays back-to-back double headers. No more bye’s in-between games.
  2. The field you ump/stat on will be the same field you play on. No more running across fields to get to your game or ump/stat responsibility.
  3. Each time you’re scheduled to ump/stat you will ump/stat 2 hours in a row and stay on the same field for both hours. This will allow games to start on time because you’ll already be on the field ready for the next hour. This also allows us to schedule you less nights for ump/stat responsibilities.
  4. Every time an A league team is scheduled to play, their corresponding B team will have a bye. And vice versa. No more depleting a B team when guys are pulled up to the A league.
  5. You will play every team once before you play teams a second time. No more playing some teams twice at the start of the season and other teams none until the end of the season.
  6. You will have two weeks between playing the same team a second time (except for 1 team you play).
  7. Your team will only have to ump/stat 3-4 nights this season (you will be asked to help with the younger leagues later in the summer though).

The goal of these changes is to improve everyone’s softball experience this coming season. Please look over the schedule to see if there are any errors. If so, please contact Ruth Peters, James Young or Heather Kingston.

Good luck to everyone this season!
